Motivation, when does it strike?

When you’re notified about your health and find out, it’s not too great to be relaxed about. Or in a situation when you see your friend gaining muscles and flaunting to get all the female attention? Or did somebody tell you that you’re fat or unfit?

Be it anything, but it certainly provided you with motivation to stay fit.

But that shouldn’t be the case. Something somebody said or something you saw should just be the only sources to make you motivated if it were the case for those who are not so active physically. But if you’re one of those who is into fitness but fails at times, here are a few fitness tips to help you stay motivated.

Set goals

Setting goals will make you stay motivated to perform better. Be realistic and set goals that are quick to achieve. It will not only make you happy about achieving it but will also help you get inspired to get better and move ahead.

Being realistic and sure about achieving a goal should be your priority. Because it’s easy to get frustrated and give up if your goals are too ambitious.

Make your fitness regime fun

Find sports or activities that you enjoy, then vary the routine to keep you on your toes. If you’re not enjoying your workouts, try something different. Join a volleyball or softball league. Take a ballroom dancing class. Check out a health club or martial arts center. Discover your hidden athletic talent.

Remember, exercise doesn’t have to be boring, and you’re more likely to stick with a fitness program if you’re having fun.

Make it a part of your daily schedule

Some of the most committed exercisers do it every day before the sun comes up or late at night when the kids are in bed. Sit down with your weekly schedule and try to build in an hour each day to be good to your body.

If you convince yourself you’ll fit in a workout sometime after that last meeting, once the kids go down for a nap or when your spouse arrives home on time, failure is certain. Chances are a last-minute invitation will come along; weather will foil a bike ride, or the kids won’t nap. Write your workout on your calendar, set up daycare, and rearrange things around this one hour as if it were any other important appointment you have to keep. Or use technology like daily e-mail reminders, workout websites, or apps to keep you on task.

Find people who want to stay fit and are motivated about it

You must try to get involved with people who are enthusiastic about physical fitness and are willing to get along with you. Not only does it helps you to stay motivated yourself but gives you the energy of a certain level which is beyond explanation and makes you go gaga for fitness!!

Find such people around you. If not then “FriendColony” will be your savior and help you out with it.

Lastly, reward yourself.

“The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more.”

When you achieve your goal, make sure you reward yourself for it. Or after each exercise session, take a few minutes to savor the good feelings that exercise gives you. This type of internal reward can help you make a long-term commitment to regular exercise.

External rewards can help, too. When you reach a longer range goal, treat yourself to a new pair of walking shoes or new tunes to enjoy while you exercise.

Follow the above Fitness tips to stay motivated, not only for a smaller term but also for a long run!
