The Friendly Neighborhood Book Nerds are here to give you book reviews, book lists, recommendations, and everything bookish! If you’re writing pieces like those, we want them!
Behind the scenes, we’re staffed by Emily Hope and myself, Leigh Victoria Phan, MS, MFA, two MFA-trained writers bringing our love of books to Medium.

A Few Guidelines
- Proofread your piece before submitting it.
- Please include a subtitle below your title — these are great for hooking your reader!
- Please have the title of your story in proper title casing. Capitalize My Title is a great tool for double-checking.
- We highly encourage submitting unpublished drafts.
- Avoid the overuse of profanity or inappropriate language.
- Please use a high-resolution hero image for your story. You can use the embedded Unsplash feature or explore websites like Pixabay, Pexels, or any other free stock website out there.
- Ensure you have permission to use your images and cite them all accordingly.
- Please check that submissions comply with Medium’s Rules and Ad-Free Policy.
