Appui au programme d’éducation secondaire de Friendship

Dans des régions où, pendant longtemps, les enfants n’ont eu pratiquement aucun accès à l’éducation primaire et n’osaient pas même rêver du secondaire, Friendship a su mettre en place un système d’éducation secondaire qui a remporté un succès éclatant après trois ans: à l’instar de ceux du primaire depuis de nombreuses années, nos étudiants ont obtenu, à l’examen de fin de cycle inférieur, des résultats nettement supérieurs à la moyenne nationale. Les ingrédients: quelques panneaux photovoltaïques; un ordinateur et deux écrans par salle de classe; des cours enregistrés dans le studio d’enregistrement de Friendship à Dhaka avec le concours d’enseignants sélectionnés au sein des meilleures écoles de la capitale; un facilitateur recruté parmi nos enseignants du primaire et une volonté forcenée d’apprendre de la part des élèves.
Face à son succès, nous souhaitons amplifier ce programme d’éducation secondaire qui profite actuellement à 320 élèves (les écoles primaires de Friendship en accueillent 4.500) et c’est ce projet que nous avons soumis à l’édition 2018 des ING Solidarity Awards.
La première partie de ce concours consistait pour les 93 associations luxembourgeoises inscrites à obtenir le plus grand nombre de votes en ligne. Les 30 associations ayant obtenu le plus grand nombre de voix des internautes ont chacune gagné un chèque de 1000 €. Friendship a récolté 694 voix et terminé à la 12ème position. Dans la seconde partie du concours, un jury composé de 7 membres a examiné les projets des ONG participantes et a désigné les lauréats dans 5 catégories. Friendship Luxembourg s’est vu décerner un prix de 5000€ dans la catégorie “Aide humanitaire” pour la qualité du projet d’éducation secondaire qui a véritablement enthousiasmé le jury.
Vous pouvez également toujours faire des dons à Friendship pour nous permettre de poursuivre et d’étendre notre programme. En raison d’un cofinancement à hauteur de 80 % par la Coopération luxembourgeoise, un don de 200€ — par ailleurs déductible de votre revenu imposable luxembourgeois — nous permet de financer le programme au Bangladesh à hauteur de 1000€.

Dear friends of Friendship,
In areas where, for a long time, children had virtually no access to primary education and did not even dare dream of secondary schools, Friendship conceived and set up a secondary education system which has proved to be amazingly successful over the last three years: in the same way as our primary school pupils have done for many years, our secondary school students have achieved results at the national exam concluding the junior secondary cycle (grades 5 to 7) that were significantly above the national average. The ingredients: some photovoltaic panels, a computer and two screens per classroom; courses recorded in the Friendship recording studio in Dhaka with the support of teachers selected from the best schools in the capital; a facilitator selected from our primary school teachers and an overwhelming desire to learn on the part of the students.
In the light of this success, we intend to amplify this secondary education program, which currently benefits 320 students (Friendship’s primary schools host 4,500 pupils) and it is this project that we have submitted to the 2018 edition of the ING Solidarity Awards.
The first part of this competition was for the 93 registered Luxembourg associations to obtain the largest number of votes from internet users. The 30 associations with the highest number of Internet users’ votes won each a check of 1000€. Friendship received 694 votes and finished at the 12th place. In the second part of the competition, a 7-member jury examined the projects of the participating NGOs and selected the winners in 5 categories. Friendship Luxembourg was awarded a prize of 5000€ in the “Humanitarian Aid” category for the quality of the secondary education project for which the jury was really enthusiastic.
You can also always make donations to Friendship to allow us to continue and expand our program. Due to 80% co-financing by Luxembourg Cooperation, a donation of 200€ — which is also deductible from your Luxembourg taxable income — allows us to finance the program in Bangladesh up to 1000€.
