Luxembourg — On 29th of April 2017, 8000 ducks floated down the Petrusse river in the traditional annual Duck Race. With record numbers of participants this year, the organisers ,Table Ronde Luxembourgeoise, were able to raise 84000,-EUR for 4 charities. We are thrilled to announce that Friendship Luxembourg was among the charities to receive a generous donation of 21.000,-EUR.

This donation will contribute towards equipping a pediatric ward in Friendship’s new Shyamnagar Hospital located in the coastal belt of the Bay of Bengal (Bangladesh). Communities in these highly remote areas suffer drastically from the lack of healthcare services. This new hospital will provide quality healthcare to people who so far have had no access to proper medical treatment.

The pediatric ward will have 10 beds for children suffering from health problems that require indoor management such as cataract operation, ENT surgery and general surgery. There will also be in-patient services for fever, pneumonia, acute malnutrition and other medical issues.

We would like to thank the Table Ronde Luxembourgeoise and all the participants of the Duck Race for this amazing donation!
