Dear Friends of Friendship (see translation below)
Ce dernier jour de l’an est le moment de vous remercier pour l’appui et la confiance accordés tout au long de l’année, en vous transmettant le message de fin d’année de notre fondatrice, Runa Khan. La Newsletter qui suit son message illustre toute la diversité des actions entreprises par Friendship au courant d’une année fortement marquée par la catastrophe humanitaire affectant plus de 700.000 Rohingya ayant dû fuir la Birmanie depuis le mois d’août 2017.
Pour ceux qui, fort légitimement, trouvent que le moment n’est pas à la lecture de Newsletters, je recommande celle — et fut-ce la nième — du Petit Prince , chef-d’œuvre de poésie, d’humanité et d’émotion. Et sans vouloir contredire le renard : les images ont, elles-aussi, leur force et peuvent servir de béquilles au cœur … des adultes que nous sommes trop souvent. En regardant celle ci-dessous, prise sur un des Chars du fleuve Brahmapoutre, je me dis qu’elle vaut à elle seule toute la peine qu’on peut se donner à œuvrer pour un monde meilleur et plus juste.

Dear Friends of Friendship,
This last day of the year is the perfect time to thank you for the support you have given and the confidence you have shown in us throughout the whole year, and to share with you the end-of-year message of our founder, Runa Khan. The Newsletter that follows her message illustrates the broad range of actions undertaken by Friendship during a year marked particularly by the humanitarian disaster that affected more than 700,000 Rohingya who had to flee Burma since August 2017.
For those who consider, very legitimately, that now is not the right time to be reading Newsletters, I recommend reading — even if it’s for the nth time — that masterpiece of poetry, humanity and emotion The Little Prince. Without wishing to contradict the fox: pictures also have their strength and can, if necessary, serve as crutches for the heart … of the adults that we are only too often. Just one look at the above picture from one of the Chars of the Brahmaputra convinces me that all our efforts to try to make the world a better place are worthwhile.
