D’ores et déjà, nous vous invitons à découvrez notre nouveau site internet (www.friendship.ngo) et la campagne Get on Board destinée à permettre à l’ancien Rainbow Warrior II de poursuivre sa seconde vie en tant que Rongdhonu Friendship Hospital.
Il y a 6 ans, nous nous mobilisions pour réunir le seed money devant permettre à Friendship d’accepter la proposition de Greenpeace International de lui faire cadeau du Rainbow Warrior II. Ceci en vue de sa conversion en bateau hôpital pour les plus démunis des régions côtières du Golfe du Bengale. La mobilisation n’a pas été vaine: début 2013, Rongdhonu Friendship Hospital a commencé à sillonner les côtes du sud du Bangladesh.
Près de quatre ans plus tard, ce sont plus de 165.000 patients qui ont été traités à bord. Ceci grâce à une équipe médicale et paramédicale permanente, complétée par plus de 70 missions médicales spécialisées venues des quatre coins du monde. Parallèlement, un réseau décentralisé de soins de santé de base mis en place dans les régions d’intervention du 3è hôpital flottant de Friendship, dispense actuellement des services à quelque 50.000 personnes tous les mois, soit 600.000 services rendus par an.
Pour permettre à Rongdhonu Friendship Hospital de poursuivre sa mission, Friendship a besoin de 650.000 EUR! C’est beaucoup, certes! Et pourtant pas tant que ça! En rythme de croisière, l’hôpital à lui seul a accueilli 54.852 patients sur les douze dernier mois. Soit moins de 12 EUR par patient, tous frais compris! Pas tant que ça, disais-je.

I invite you to discover our new website at www.friendship.ngo as well our “Get on Board!” campaign, designed to allow the former Rainbow Warrior II to pursue its second life as the Rongdhonu Friendship Hospital.
Six years ago, we all worked together to gather the seed money to enable Friendship to accept Greenpeace International’s generous gift of the Rainbow Warrior II, and to convert it into a hospital ship to serve the most deprived citizens of the coastal regions of the Bay of Bengal. Our work was not in vain: in early 2013, the Rongdhonu Friendship Hospital began sailing on its now regular routes along the southern coasts of Bangladesh.
Almost four years later, more than 165,000 patients have been treated on board the Rongdhonu Friendship Hospital, thanks to a permanent medical and paramedical team and more than 70 medical camps held by specialised doctors from all over the world. In the working areas of this, its 3rd floating hospital, Friendship also established a parallel network of basic healthcare, which currently provides services to about 50,000 people every month, overall 600,000 services rendered per year.
To allow the Rongdhonu Friendship Hospital to continue its good work, Friendship now needs to raise 650,000 EUR! That certainly seems a lot! And yet, not so much either! The hospital has hosted 54,852 patients over the past twelve months. That amounts to only 12 EUR per patient, all included! As I said, it’s not so much…
