I recently wrote a review on my disappointing experience with Flings Toaster Pastries. I wasn’t going to give up trying to find a substitute for my beloved Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts. Let’s dive in on nutrition, taste and whether these are worth buying.

Ingredients And Nutrition

As you can see, this is not the healthiest list of ingredients; but neither are regular Pop Tarts. As I am dirty keto, I have no issue with this.

There are four net carbs in each pastry (22 total-9 fiber-9 sugar alcohols). If you are not strict keto, these can certainly fit into your macros.

Taste And Texture

When I took this out of the wrapper, the first thing I noticed was the thickness of the pastry. It was soft like a down pillow.

You can’t actually toast these pastries. You need to nuke them in the microwave for ten seconds. I broke the pastry in half to see if the filling was generous. A pool of gooey brown sugar filling oozed out of the pastry. Yes, it’s generous! But how did the pastry taste?

It was a bit soft, but it tasted like pastry. The vanilla icing covered the entire pastry. Overall, it tasted really good, if not a little too sweet. But it certainly satisfied my craving for a Pop Tart.

Should You Buy These?

These pastries don’t come cheap. I bought them at Walmart, and paid $9.87 for four pastries. Would I buy them again? Yes, on occasion. They are really expensive, as are most keto packaged foods. If you love Pop Tarts, I would give these a try.

Two of my most favorite pastries are cinnamon rolls and chocolate filled croissants. I had to give them up when I went on the keto diet. I have been searching for something to replace them. I recently purchased Legendary foods chocolate rolls. I wanted to try something similar to both.

Ingredients And Nutrition

Again, not the healthiest of ingredients. But if you are dirty keto like me, this is not an issue. There are five net carbs in each roll. You can easily fit these into your macros. These are also high in protein, which is a plus.

Taste And Texture

I was really excited to try these. When I opened the package, the first thing I noticed was the small size of the roll. It was covered in a generous layer of chocolate icing.

When I took a bite, the pastry was a bit dense. (okay, I didn’t microwave it as suggested). Then I got to the rich, chocolate center. The roll was a bit sweet, but it had a good, strong chocolate flavor.

The roll is just the right size; if it were a full size roll, it would have been too much in the way of sweetness.

Should You Buy These?

I bought these at Walmart for. I paid 9.87 for four rolls. Again, pretty expensive. But the satisfaction that came from eating it more than made up for that.

If you love cinnamon rolls (they do have a cinnamon version) or chocolate rolls, you would love these.
