Believe it or not, nowadays all of us are always more or less influenced by the media. As the referendum is coming closer, not only articles are accumulating, also corresponding cartoons concering Brexit.. However, I picked out a few which I thought were interesting and well-made :)

As can be seen in all three cartoons, I believe that it becomes clear that the people are already kind of annoyed about the whole referendum. First David Cameron tried to convince the people to vote for his party by suggesting the idea of the referendum. British people where convinced that a Britain outside of the EU would be much more effective and free.

However, it soon became apparent that Cameron is for staying within the EU, as could be seen in several of his speeches. Off course, this doesn’t make him too trustworthy, as can be seen within the cartoons. It seems as if he hasn’t really made up his mind himself, picking the flower with “yes” and “no”. Furthermore in the first cartoon, I think the “In-Out-Shake it all about Referendum” sums up the situation quite well. First the people were supposed to be in- then out. Nobody really knows what to do and what is best for the UK, which can also be seen in the polls alluding at a 50–50 referendum. Banks, financial services and manufacturing are all fearing the day of the referendum, deciding about their future. In addition, it will have a great influence on currency and markets.

Nevertheless, while politicians are still arguing about what is best for the UK, the media will play an important role in making up the peoples mind about what to vote on June 23rd. Thus, also cartoons will be apparent and influencing us within the next weeks. However, we shouldn’t forget to be critical enough with what the media tells us and which “side” for example newspapers are on.
