“Our True National Interests — Our Best Interests”
Mohamed Saade

I really enjoyed reading your post. It’s nice that you do not only state facts about the attitudes of several prime ministers towards Europe, but kind of let them speak for themselves by quoting them. Especially the part where you analyse David Cameron’s speeches is really interesting and shows how his focus in argumentation has shifted recently. He seems very desperate in convincing his people that it is indeed in their “best interest” to remain a member of the EU. It is quite remarkable how he makes appeals to the British population emphasizing his own positive feelings about Europe — you point that out very clearly in the seventh paragraph of your post. Obviously he himself thinks that this is not enough to convince people…and has changed his strategy to point to the negative consequences of a possible Brexit.
