We all have questions to ask, and most of us are willing to help when asked. But few of us are comfortable with asking.

Stigma we associate with asking: makes one feel like an imposter; reveals one doesn’t know the answer; it’s not polite to ask; people prefer waiting for people to offer.

Asking is a skill, one we can all learn and hone

WiseHer.com pairs people with questions with people with answers.

If you don’t ask, it’s 100% NO, and 50% of people underestimate the likelihood of someone saying yes to help

Replace fear with empowering thought that people do want to help you

Asking for help actually helps the other person rise higher too, fulfill their needs (esteem)

The A.S.K. method:

A: Assume people want to help you, don’t assume people know what you want; Inattention Blindness

S: Be specific, give them all the tools they need in order to say yes

K: Keep it simple, keep in touch
