Engagement = Turnout

Melissa Political Cartoons, March 16, 2012

There are not that many ways one can articulate that turnout for elections are important. The key point political parties and elected officials are missing is HOW to ENGAGE the public to EXCITE the public to TURNOUT. Now it is many ways to engage the American people or more specifically, the Black community, but yet, many of those things have yet to be done.

Taking a lesson from this cartoon, if you engage with the Black community by going to HBCUs or local high school activity to talk about issues it deems important, excite them by having a conversation about how your policies will address their issues, they will turnout to vote.
