Contextual & New Ways To Discover Awesome: Fresh Launches On LBB’s App & Web

Every month, LBB connects hundreds of emerging and local brands with millions of users from across the country. As a marketplace and hyper-local platform, we’ve seen how quickly trends and customer preferences can change; keeping in mind the impact of COVID on our customers, and feedback we received from our users and merchant partners, we’ve introduced a couple of slick changes that will make your discovery and shopping experience on LBB seamless.

We’re always trying to make it simpler and more fun for our users to browse and scroll through our feed for brands, places, and products on LBB. To help you find what you’ll like, we launched ‘Personalised Shortcuts’. This shows a category of similar products/brands that you have been liking recently, or are likely to enjoy exploring. We have also spruced up our search results to make them more immersive and fun for you to browse!

As customers continue to stay weary of stepping out to stores to browse, we’re bringing the window shopping experience of rummaging through shops and markets on LBB. Exhibit A- Delhi’s iconic market for lights, Lok Nayak Bhawan’s stores are showcasing their catalogue and offerings through LBB. For example, Lafayette Lights which came online for the first time on LBB, has seen a high demand for their lights in recent months. With softwares like Microsoft Azure Vision AI, we’ve enabled automated product tagging for merchants, so they’re easy to discover and search on LBB.

Another way in which you can connect with merchants on LBB is via our newly launched Enquire feature. Through this, customers can browse brands’ catalogues on LBB before they step out to shop, or even message brands directly!

Most of the brands that retail on LBB are up and coming brands- so chances are, you may not have heard of them up until you found them on LBB. On our new and updated PDPs, we’re bringing the content and discovery part of our ecosystem to our shoppers. Through Product Reviews and Brand Reviews on our PDPs, you can now see what other customers think about your prospective purchase, other products from the same brand that customers love, and what our community of insiders and editors have to say about the brand at large. The more context customers have, the better our add to cart and conversion- and this change is a step in that direction.

Found something on LBB that’s unfortunately out of stock? First off, our sincere apologies! But here’s a good plan B- we’ll show you a curation of other products in similar cuts, sizes, colours and fits! Through structured taxonomy and ML, we’re able to direct our customers to similar items, swiftly. This new feature has been fantastic in reducing customer churn, and has also enabled us to introduce our customers to new styles and brands.

While 100% of our searches are category or product-led- so, customers search for things such as cotton shirts, cold coffee, table lamps etc. We’ve recently added a brand discovery section on our web and app, where you’ll be able to discover not only products but up and coming independent brands as well!
