Reframing is the key
A couple of weeks back I listened to Rainn Wilson’s podcast Soul Boom where he talked about healing. Years ago the therapist gave him a set of affirmations to practice daily but the first time he read: “You are enough”, he threw the paper away. He just couldn’t believe it.
It took him eight years to accept those three simple words. Who said self-growth is as quick as scraping your tongue?
But people can heal if they keep going. A part of the process is to repeat new healthy ideas over and over again until you rewire the brain for more positive choices. It’s all in the stories we tell ourselves.
Healing starts with your ego
Our minds are filled with ego narratives. Once upon a time when life bit you, those make-believe stories made you feel safe. But a few decades have passed since that moment and those unhealthy ideas still reside in your subconscious, distorting your reality and doing more harm than good.
