Shinrin-Yoku

The
Art
of
Forest
Bathing

Working as a safety officer for a number of years in the oil industry, I witnessed the effects of different kinds of stress on a given workforce, in accidents, both severe and repetitive. Treatment for workplace stress is difficult because mental symptoms turn into physical ones through many paths. The first diagnosis is often through the digestive system, bringing a number of ailments, most of which can become serious, including various reflux diseases.

We barely understand stress, or if we do, we do not acknowledge it, and just behind the breastbone is where stress often reveals itsef through symptoms and direct illnesses. If there was ever a truth to all maxims about prevention being better than cure, this is it.

Shinrin-Joku: The Art of Forest Bathing is about the beneficial role of forests in our lives. I have collected details of many journeys in different forests around the world, and set out to the rain forests of Latin America and Central Africa, and the taiga of Russia.

In an account I have kept entertaining as well as informative, I visited Japan and learnt the science behind Shinrin-Yoku; forest bathing, and its role in stress release and disease prevention. Some of the facts may surprise you.

As well as my personal experiences among the native people of Siberia and the jungles of Latin America I detail why forests are so important, for medical reasons in illness prevention as well as mental health and wellbeing..

But spiritually, my quest in Siberia was also very revealing, and one that I wanted to share with you.

So many discoveries were made, and the book steps out of the realm of being merely useful for those with high blood pressure and heart problems.

I decided to serialise the book, in epub .mobi form, as I put my notes together, chapter by chapter.

So join me on my spiritual quest and scientific research.

And learn about the secrets of the forests.

Here’s the cover for the paperback:

Nice, isn’t it! Well, I think so, anyway. Now for the book — please follow the instructions just below.
