My Heart Chakra is Mess.
Why?
I’m not sure what’s up with my heart chakra. I check in with my chakras when I can due to years of training in the healing arts. I believe the heart chakra is a bridge that allows us, as humans, to operate from both our human and Divine designs.
Quick review of chakras, if you’re not aware. .
Each chakra is an energy center of the body, responsible for different functions. Each chakra can be healthy and balanced or imbalanced by depletion or excess. (The energy centers spin, and when attuned to subtle energy, one can feel the rate and direction to which they spin.) Each chakra corresponds to a color, and we can use color therapy to enhance and support our chakra system. Each chakra is also associated with an element. There are five elements (Earth, water, fire, air, ether) in the traditional Vedic teachings, so often the sixth and seventh chakra are depicted as the mental/emotional body and pure consciousness, respectively.
The heart chakra is the bridge connecting the lower three chakras to the upper three chakras. The heart is neutral. The heart chakra is also the easiest chakra to go out of balance because of its relation to the air element, constantly moving. Of course, all things related to the heart chakra are challenging to deal with, at best, so my bridge gets burned quite often. Here’s how I deal with some of it. . .
First of all, what are the symptoms of discomfort that need changing? Right now, I am struggling with heart burn, tightness in the chest, and extreme pain in the shoulders, arms, wrists, and hands. Psoriatic Arthritis rules out some of the discomfort, so I’m moving on to how I check in with myself. I close my eyes, make my body very still, and I search with my mind’s eye for the discomfort.
When I meet it, I ask, “Are you mental, emotional, spiritual or physical?” With a clear understanding that the FIRST feeling/sensation/thought/sense/word to come to me IS the best answer (sometimes I know the answer before I even finish asking the question), I heard the heartburn is mental and physical, the tightness in the chest is emotinal and spiritual, and the extreme pain in my extremeties is all four. Super!
I ask another question, “What do I need to do to clear or release you?”
Heart burn replies, “Remember your strength. I originate from your third chakra. Believe in yourself more.”
Tightness replies, “Let go, baby girl. Let go. You hold on to a pain so far in the past that it hurts you today. Your ego will not suffer from this loss. Only you suffer holding it so tight. You are not special because of your pain, you are special because of all the beauty you made from it. Be free. Love without limits, like before. You are resilient and powerful. The love you feel for yourself heals all of the wounds of the past. Let the pain go.”
Extreme extremity pain replies, “Your long journey is almost complete. You have learned so many lessons. Here are some of the final lessons you will learn from pain. . . limitations are fear-based false beliefs. We are not victims of our lives or powerless to our circumstances. We are responsible. We are powerful beyond measure. Perspective and patience create peaceful living. And all beings appreciate gentle kindness and compassion. Give to youreslf. More and more. Be at ease within, and the lightness of being will return.”
I work through these things over time, and continually check in with my chakras. I write, practice chi gong, practice reiki, meditate, and pray often. I offer myself a safe place (within me) to cry, to feel whatever comes up. I went through tears and a physical release, stretching and unwinding (a Polarity therapy term for “muscle” or “fascia tension” releasing in spasms). I allowed the emotions to release, as needed, and within the time it took to write this, I physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritualy feel better in my heart chakra! Excellent. That’s the point. Be aware.
I hope these techniques are useful to you and to share to others!
Spread compassion and gratitude. . .
