  1. Try to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning no matter what. A lot of us skip breakfast, and that can cause us to be grumpy, or not fully ready to take on the day. Eating breakfast will give you energy learn in your classes and focus.
  2. Have a positive attitude. Keeping a good attitude towards school will make you prone to doing your best.
  3. Give yourself a break. With loads of homework and extracurriculars, take at least 20 minutes of time every day to do something that relaxes you. Choose an activity that relaxes you, in my case reading or taking a nature walk are a couple good ones.
  4. Give yourself a reward whenever you achieve a tough goal. For example, if you win 1st in Division 1 wrestling, treat yourself for your hard work.
  5. Stay physically active. Loads of studying and homework every day, including when we sit at our desks at school, can add up to multiple hours of sitting. Keep the blood flowing by doing a little bit of exercise every day so you are not sluggish and can accomplish more. I recommend at least 10 minutes of any kind of cardio.
  6. Do your best to have proper time management. Don’t come back from school and accidentally watch a whole season of Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix, saving homework for 12 at night.
  7. Prioritize yourself. If you have a Calc test tomorrow, study for that first. Do not start Economics homework which is due in a week unless you finished studying for Calculus.
  8. Give your best impression to teachers. Your recommendation letters will be amazing for applying to prep schools or colleges, trust me.
  9. Write down a list of things you need to do. This way you will not forget that you need to go to the Hospital after school to volunteer.
  10. Put your phone away. We all know that scrolling through Instagram can sometimes be more entertaining than doing an important task. Shutting your phone off will help you focus.

I hope you can start adopting these good habits as your own. Keeping these habits has definitely benefited me keep up with the extensive pressures of being a student.
