Global Engagement

Trulaske is connecting Mizzou students to the global marketplace.

Winter intersession study abroad

During winter intersession, 86 students studied in New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Spain, Chile, and Argentina. While studying abroad, students focused their studies on international business strategies and gained a global perspective. During the program, students visited with international companies in all countries and had the opportunity to interact with industry leaders. Not only do students gain a better understanding of the global economy, but students also visit cultural sites while in different countries. Students expand their global mindset and are ready to bring those experiences back to the Trulaske College of Business and their full-time positions after graduation. For more information about the many study abroad opportunities in the Trulaske College of Business, visit our website at TrulaskeAbroad.missouri.edu or contact Dr. Shannon Breske, Director of Study Abroad at breskes@missouri.edu.

Sixteen Trulaske College of Business undergraduates engage in global market research

Sixteen Trulaske College of Business undergraduate students will be directing their time, attention and talents this semester towards helping four Missouri-based companies expand their sales internationally. As interns with the MU International Trade Center, the students will be conducting global market research to assist the companies with new market identification and evaluation. The projects are tailored to each company’s product and industry sectors of interest. Interns gain valuable hands-on experience in data analysis, project management and presentation expertise, along with real-world insights into global trade. Companies currently working with the MU International Trade Center include Ole Hickory Pit (Cape Girardeau), Legacy Wood Products (West Plains), Hillyard, Inc. (St. Joseph) and Walnut Log Buyers of America (St. Joseph). The student interns will present their findings to these companies at the end of the semester.
