In the year 1949, Dr. Harry Reiff initiated the first Model United Nations (MUN) conference. Sweat was released, nervousness blanketed minds, and a new club was born. Now, sixty-nine years later, MUN has flourished in countless niches around the globe. Yet the question remains: how can you be successful in the incredibly fast-paced and competitive MUN environment?

This blog will answer that question. Every two weeks of the traditional school calendar, a post will be published on this platform. This post might contain tips, stories from the field, interviews, and more. Ultimately, all of these posts will be geared toward answering the question of success in MUN.

New to MUN?

Welcome to the community! We will have content for beginners as well as old-timers. You do not have to be a seasoned diplomatic veteran to munch our advice with glee. We will be a veritable barrel of initiatory information.

Not an Enloe student?

Although this blog is nurtured by members of the Enloe High School MUN club, there is no reason why any aspiring MUN delegate should not digest our writing. We invite and even encourage our rival schools to take a peek.

Are you a MUN chair?

You have traveled to a safe harbor. Here, you can see how procedures are carried out in MUN conferences. This blog will even feature Enloe chairs who have presided over mock MUN conferences.

Don’t know your geography?

Geographic fledglings, rejoice! We know that MUN iconography revolves around geography, but there is no need to be worried! Even though geographic knowledge might be important in a particular MUN conference, you need not know the name of every single Micronesian island. It is important to note that historical knowledge is important for MUN, especially when you are writing position papers.

Questions, comments, and requests?

We are happy to receive any post requests and personal questions. We are a newborn blog; consequently, your feedback is very meaningful.
