Dark and Ethereal Goth Music from Tortured Souls

Tortured Souls

Tortured Souls was dreamed up by Vincent McLean and Ryan Mantione when McLean needed the right music for his short film ‘Redemption.’ Together, McLean and Mantione wrote vocals and arranged the songs. Their goal was to fuse themes of darkness and light, damnation and salvation, masculine and feminine.

You can hear the album they created at Tortured Souls Reverb Nation. The songs are beautiful and combine intense heavy metal and dark melodies with growling male lead vocals and ethereal, female voices that soar over everything like a choir. When you hear it, even without being in a goth club, you’ll feel like you’re sitting in one. They perfectly capture classic goth aesthetics.

The dramatic lyrics match the big energy of the music. Sadly, Tortured Souls doesn’t perform anymore, but at least we get these tracks! When they were performing, in addition to Vincent McLean and Ryan Mantione, the lineup consisted of bassist Nick Gonzales, drummer Dan Kujat, Hawaiian guitarist Ale, and fellow musicians/actresses Jaime Blakely and Nicole Carson on vocals.
