I’m Sober Enough To Know Better

But I’m drunk enough to not care

I’m sober enough to know better, but I’m drunk enough to not care
Probably not a good combination, my broken heart in despair
I know not to call, not to text, not to miss you, not tonight
There’s no good from more heartache, another fight
The drinks wear me down, even numb my heart
They won’t dull the pain, being so far apart
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Alone in a crowd, no soft hand to hold
“No, listen,” my heart has been told
There is no “us,” we are all done
No need to see, go ahead run
Don’t pick up the phone
She’s with someone
— — — — — — — -
We were then us
Now fever lost
Desperation
Impaired
Longing
Bruise
Love
You
Me
