Vacancy at Motel — Full Stack Developer

About Motel
Motel is a team of designers and engineers who love working on great products with great people. We work with clients to help them design, build, and manage their products.
Our clients range from two-person startups to multi-billion dollar corporations — our only requirement is that we work with people we believe in and care about. This flexibility also allows us the opportunity to experience every phase of the product lifecycle, whether that’s helping a founder mold their vision into an MVP, iterating on a funnel until it’s perfect, or scaling to support millions of users. Some of our incredible clients include companies such as Tech.Co, Invision, and Close5.
We also spend time on our own ideas. We like to scratch our own itch by building products that help our clients be more successful or solve recurring problems that don’t yet have good solutions. Any member of Motel is welcome to pitch an idea for an internal product and if it gathers enough support, we’ll dive in!
At the end of the day, we are a close-knit group and try to surround ourselves with people who do great work and like to have fun. We’re dedicated to creating long-term value outside of a client-to-agency relationship. Whether it’s for our clients or for ourselves, we want to help design and develop things that matter with people we love.
About the Role
We’re looking for a full stack engineer who can help us build rad stuff. We have a team of super talented engineers building products in Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, React, Ember, and Angular. We’d like you to be familiar with at least one of those technologies, but we hope you can also teach us a thing or two we don’t know already!
As part of a remote team, you get to live where you want and work how you want. We believe you don’t have to live in a certain city to be great at what you do. We use a variety of tools (such as Slack, Zoom, and PivotalTracker) to stay in touch and collaborate on our projects from afar. While we don’t expect you to know these tools coming in, we expect you to have an open mind and be willing to adopt them.

Schedules are also flexible, we understand that everyone has a slightly different work routine. The one weekly event we expect the team to attend is “Show + Motel” — our chance to get together and share what we’ve been working on either inside or outside of work. It’s an opportunity to see anyone that you’ve missed that week and also to grab some prime screenshots of your coworkers.
As a young agency, nothing is set in stone at Motel. We’re constantly improving and challenging the status-quo, from the way we build scalable products to the way we talk to each other every day. Everyone is actively involved in shaping company culture and hopefully you find that opportunity exciting!
