Dear Friends,

I just watched the movie Paterson. It was delightful.

Paterson on his bus. (Source for all three pictures: Google Images)

It is a movie about the poetry of everyday life. The story follows a bus driver named Paterson. He writes poetry. His wife is very artistic. They have a bulldog. The movie shows glimpses of their life together.

Paterson and his wife.

There are no car chases, no kidnappings, no explosions, no superheroes or mythic beings. There isn’t even a marital tiff. That does not sound particularly thrilling, but the movie is so well shot and thoughtful that it never feels monotonous.

Poets

So, I highly recommend this movie, especially if you want to have some faith in humanity restored.

Post Script: This movie is rated R. There are probably two occasions of the F-bomb. That is it. In relation to violence, this movie is waaaaaaaayyyyyy safer than any of the Marvel movies. So, don’t be deterred by the rating.
