Take a moment to do Random Acts of Kindness

This might seem very random compared to the normal Friday Focuses we send, but it just popped up as something to share this week! (It’s random, get it?)

Random acts of kindness are unexpected things we can do to brighten up other people’s days. While these aren’t activities that typically take a lot of time, they can be very meaningful to the recipient. Performing random acts of kindness can help improve the atmosphere at your workplace.

We went through a few global blog articles that had ideas for this and came across three that seemed to be the most appropriate in a Sri Lankan context.

1. Help an officemate with a difficult or unpleasant task without being asked.

2. Buy a drink or snack for the support staff or security desk (they deserve it!) or leave it on a co-worker’s desk.

3. Send a note to the boss about something spectacular that a colleague has recently done at work or give someone a genuine recommendation on LinkedIn.
