At the Frontier Technologies Hub, we work with UKAid to explore how emerging technologies can help to solve the variety of challenges found in developing country contexts.
In this case study, we present the story and reflect on an ongoing pilot project from South Africa, which looked to see how an automated artificial intelligence diagnostic triage tool could detect and assess the presence of respiratory diseases from miners’ chest X-rays and subsequently improve the efficiency of diagnosis.
