The opening of FTL’s fourth call for pilot applications and official DFID-wide launch of the Futures programme was quite the event! Part of what made the day special was having a number of frontier technologists present at the event to help bring the tech to life and add a bit of flare to proceedings.

My teammate on FTL Asad profiled BlueTap in a post yesterday, and my other colleagues will do the same with other attendees from the technology marketplace over the coming days.

Today, we share more about Africa Power Storage a UK-based provider of clean energy solutions throughout Africa, including on FTL’s very own pilot in Zimbabwe (which you can read more about in Asad’s post here).

After the event, Mike Rosenberg, Founder and Managing Director of APS (and previous contributor to our livestream), was kind enough to set aside a bit of time to tell us more about APS.

Did you know that in some ways Africa already represents the future of electricity? We’ll let Mike say more on the subject!

Follow us on this page to get more stories and updates about how our programme is teaming with organisations like APS to tackle some of the biggest challenges in development through frontier technologies.
