In geographically challenging terrain like Nepal access to affordable internet has been very difficult. The earthquake in 2015 damaged infrastructures in the country further, slowing the expansion of rural telecom and internet services.

Unlike traditional WiFi, TV White space or ‘Super Wifi’ has a much broader and stronger coverage and can be used to deliver widespread broadband internet. This could be optimally suited for Nepal’s geographical topology where radio signals are disrupted by hills and cannot reach communities living in these areas.

This project will seek to connect schools and community centres with internet hubs, using Super Wifi.
