The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) is one of the largest food events in the world. This year, the conference stretched over 4 days, hosting 13, 000 registered dietitian nutritionists, nutrition researchers, policymakers, health care providers, and industry leaders. For the 100th iteration of the conference, research, educational presentations, lectures, debates, expert lead panel discussions, demonstrations, and a huge product exhibition were all part of the experience. The food exposition counted more than 390 nutrition experts who showcased various products. Amidst this ocean of alimentary revolution, the food trends of the future were the stars of the show.

Probiotics will be big

Probiotics are microorganisms that spawn health benefits such as increased intestine health, immunity, and improved digestion. Additionally, it has been proven that probiotics would also be particularly filling and conducive to a feeling of well-being.

Here are some products that demarcated themselves

  • Kevita’s Sparkling Probiotic Drink — In just 16 ounces of this drink, expect to find millions of well-meaning microorganisms.
  • Farmhouse Culture Kraut Krisps — Sauerkraut would be the key ingredient of those chips. One serving would garner 1 billion probiotics.
  • GoodBelly StraightShots — This dairy and sugar-free oat-milk garners 20 billion probiotics in just 2.5 ounces and 30 calories.
  • Purely Elizabeth Probiotic Granola — This particular brand contains GanedenBC30 — a patented vegan strain of probiotics. The science behind GanedenBC3O allows probiotics to survive the baking process.

You can eat healthy even when you are in a hurry

For most people, maintaining a busy schedule while working on a healthy diet can be quite complicated. For this reason, many of the conference exhibitors showcased their very own takes on quick, yet healthy eating.

Here are some products that are being acclaimed

  • Daily Harvest Smoothies — This service delivers cups filled with smoothie ingredients at your doorstep. All you have to do is add your liquid of choice and then blend.
  • Quaker Overnight Oats — To enjoy a wholesome grain breakfast, just add milk to Quaker Overnight Oats and let everything sit through the night.
  • NOW Foods Q Cups — Add hot water to these and let everything cook for 5 minutes. After those 2 simple steps, you can enjoy fantastic, gluten-free quinoa.
  • Cauli’ flour Foods Pizza Crust — These 9" gluten-free pizza crusts are only comprised of cauliflower, cheese, eggs, and spices. To enjoy them, just add your favourite toppings and bake.

Get your daily dose of proteins

Proteins are essential for muscle building, all while being stomach filling. If you have a busy schedule or a limited budget, know that there is more out there than just protein bars.

Here are some products that are worth trying

  • Eggland’s Best Eggs — This company’s eggs have a higher nutritive value than ordinary eggs. In fact, the hens that produce them stick to a wholesome, all-vegetarian diet.
  • Muuna Cottage Cheese — This cottage cheese is supplemented with real pieces of fruit at the bottom of each serving.
  • Siggi’s 4% No Added Sugar Yogurt — This brand’s yogurt contains no sugar, but instead, compensates by offering healthy fats. Flavours like peach mango and banana cinnamon are available.
