The top 5 Fashion Now rising designers

Editors from the 46 editions were requested to choose their favourite designer and 1.4 million votes were cast.

Lug Von Siga

The Turkish leading fashion designer presented a white dress with black stripes, a black cotton belt, and trims. Lug Von Siga is an acronym for Gul Agis who created the brand in 2010 as a reflection of a fresh aesthetic and eclectic style drawn from her rich cultural heritage. The collections are meant to mirror the romance of the brave strong women living a modern cultural life. The collections equally boast various facets of craftsmanship such as embroidery and minute details. In 2014, the brand enjoyed a significant boost when Mercedes Benz selected Agis as one of the most talented designers.

Jourden

The designer from Hong Kong presented a striped t-shirt paired with a double layer skirt and red high-heeled shoes. The brand was created by Mak Chun-ting, a Hong Kong fashion designer who prefers to go by the name Anais. She was only 18 when she was invited to intern at the shoe label of Rem D. Koolhaas. Anais loves to experiment with 20th-century retro-chic styles and cheeky gothic aesthetics with masculine accents.

MISBHV

The designer from Poland presented a long white dress embellished with red and black patterns and cinched by a black belt. The brand is one of the leading lights of the streetwear landscape of the country, today attaining international acclaim for their collections for both women and men. The designer is famous for the androgynous t-shirts with printed slogans, oversized sweaters, massive coats, biker jackets and pastel-hued furs. Celebrities such as Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, and Chris Brown are fans of MISBHV.

Johannes Adele

The Parisian unisex brand presented a black leathered sweat-shirt matched with a pair of white shorts featuring black patterns. The brand was founded when Swedish designer Johannes Leijonberg and French designer Adele Gillardeau decided to work together. The collections are built on cultural heritage as well as travels, offering durability and comfort too. The pair keeps on experimenting with prints and colours, aiming at harmonizing fine fabrics with a more natural beauty.

Man Chien

Malaysian designer Man Chien is renowned for her exceptional skills in painting. She uses strokes and textures to give character, emotion, and life to the fabric. It was not surprising that she presented a painted dress at Fashion Now. The designer draws inspiration from paintings as well as life stories. Every piece of garment is a unique artisanal expression with a sparkling human touch.

Other designers who shone brightly in black

Elena Burenina presented a black dress embellished with black over-knee socks and black leather high heeled shoes. Just in Case presented black pants featuring zippers and straps, as well as an embroidered black jacket. NO’OM 1 NO’MI’s key piece was a tulle dress while Neo Design presented a tulle top paired with a black slit skirt. Ainur Turisbek featured black shorts with black leather knee-high boots with open toes.
