Imagine your coffee table unfolding in front of you into an exquisite piece of artwork. This is not a fairy-tale scene. ‘Art is Therapy’, an Italian company specializing in innovative products, has already designed this wondrous, smart and multifunctional coffee table. It has been baptized as Microcromo. Apart from this product, ‘Art is Therapy’ has also designed a unique heater and a navigation belt.

What is the ‘Microcromo’ coffee table?

The Microcromo coffee table is a 3D transforming furniture, crafted in such a manner to be much more than a functional coffee table; it equally becomes an artistic painting and will likewise serve as a smart ambient light.

Even if this coffee table has been designed in a very sophisticated manner, it does not drift away from its principal purpose which is functionality. The table uses microscope photography, chromo therapy and transformation techniques to turn any space into a magnificently unique one. Microcromo is equally endowed with retractable legs that make it very easy to open. A single convenient movement is required to set on the safety magnets and lock the interlocking system.

At a time of the day when you will not need a coffee table, you will have the full option of just hanging it on the wall as a wonderful painting.

‘Art is Therapy’ is not at its first innovative design

‘Egloo’ candle-powered mini heater

In 2015, it started with the Egloo heater. This candle-powered heater can warm a house for 10 cents a day. Egloo has been meticulously crafted into a small portable terra cotta dome and can warm a small space of about 90-square-feet in your room by up to 10 degrees within 30 minutes.

The Italian company uses 3D printing technology for its creation. The Egloo consists of four components: the base, the grill, and two domes. Four candles should be placed on the pace while the grill serves as a support for the domes and also allows proper air flow for the combustion of the candles. It is already available on the market for about $50 each and comes in a wide array of colours and finishes such as matte black, terra cotta or lacquered purple.

The ‘Ubivade’ navigation belt

The Ubivade navigation belt is a vibro-tactile navigation system. It consists of 16 vibrating motors positioned on the belt and they transmit information to the user regarding directions towards his destination.

The Ubivade belt has transcended from the usual visual or vocal navigation systems and is completely tactile. In this sense, it avoids risks related to distractions to drivers. The company promises that this futuristic belt may indeed provide a range of solutions to most common problems of navigation.

Not having to be integrated like traditional navigation systems in transportation or mobile phones, it proves to be extremely suitable. Users no longer have to constantly check their phones for directions, thus becoming stressed. Moreover, the Ubivade is not affected by weather conditions, making it very user-friendly.
