As the world becomes more sophisticated and complex, the use of emerging technologies becomes more and more critical to education.

VR is increasingly playing a bigger role in training students and introducing them to difficult concepts which are much easier explained with demonstrative immersive experience.

VR technology changes the approach of learning

Digital media is changing the way educational institutions approach system of learning by no longer depending on lectures to teach ideas or concepts. We are seeing a rise of massively online course platforms like Udacity, Coursera etc.

It shouldn’t be long before we could see such platform using VR to provide immersive learning for certain topics like Data Analysis and Statistics. These disciplines already use charts and graphics heavily, so there is a lot to be added if graphics and visualisations can be presented in an immersive medium.

But actual physical schools are also trying to integrate VR into their teaching processes, particularly in science education. It’s quite likely that the best schools of tomorrow will be defined according to how well the school has adapted its curriculum to current and future technological demands rather than past achievements.

Demonstrative Learning

In one go, I must say that Virtual Reality provides us with the best way to explain difficult concepts through demonstration rather than intensive lectures.

One picture is worth a thousand words. One video is worth a thousand pictures! And hopefully, one VR presentation could be worth at least dozens of videos if not thousands :)
