Simpler Version: Execution Starts. You’ll need Partners.
You have to eat the frog! Here’s how to start.
How quickly do we need to move? Undoubtedly, we need to move swiftly in the new year, but the crucial question is: Where are you moving towards?

This is where your ambitious goals come into focus. It’s time to prove that you are up to the task of accomplishing every one of your goals.
The second aspect is more of a comfort, but you’ll need partners, and that is the most challenging part of the work. You’ll need partners who have the means to support your goals. Your goals are highly achievable, but this is where help comes in to assist you in accomplishing them easily.
We’ve covered how to set goals in the previous year, laying a solid foundation. We are confident that by now, you should have your goals in focus. Now, acquiring partners is the next crucial step that will make this year’s goals completely achievable for you.
Here are the steps to take in acquiring partners to sponsor your goals:
1. Identify your potential partners.
Ask these questions: Who can help? Who in the field is related to my specific goal? Who is executing a similar project or goal in the new year? Please note, that this is where the idea of reading various companies’ resolution documents comes in. It’s how you understand where the resources are going, so you can be ready.
2. Be a Go-Giver and not a Go-Getter.
Learn to ask, “What can you give?” rather than “What can you get?” It’s a significant strategy for you. Ask, “How may I help you?” “How would you like my help?” “Can I invest in your projects?” Please give me a heads-up if you need my help. Use these statements often; I’ll be happy to help.
3. Change locations.
Go where your potential leads will be. Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars, especially paid workshops. This is where your sacrificial inputs start. You find people who are financially capable or have a good inclination to get a hang on their finances at a paid workshop.
4. Make friends.
Before talking about business, make friends. Everyone knows people will need money, help, and more in the new year. So the average person is avoiding those who would drain them. Make them friends first, and talk about their interests, and how they can accomplish them. Then gently insert your ask for partnership as though you are doing them a favor.
5. Follow the money.
It’s a new year, and the money is flowing somewhere. Upstream or downstream. Ask yourself, where is McKinsey’s 2024 funding going? Where is FS & Co. 2024 budgets going? What are they funding? Track this, and you’ll be amazed at what awaits you.
6. Get a spy!
One of the most underrated yet effective ways, ignored by many in finding where the money is flowing (downstream or upstream), is the Spy System. Insiders in a revenue-generating company have a good idea of their companies’ intentions, and they are the best at guiding you on what to do to get their paycheck.
