Narrow in on one interaction/event/topic — how did it make you feel (yes feeling words — angry, happy, sad, lethargic, overwhelmed)

By far the hardest interaction I’ve had during my time in Germany was the switch between host families. Originally, I lived about an hour and a half south of Berlin. I moved into the city last month in order to find new opportunities for work. My old host family was very saddened by the news and I couldn’t help but feel very guilty because the family had been so welcoming to me during my four month stay with them. However, I had to be honest with them and at times I felt a plethora of different emotions wash over me as I tried desperately to make sense of my thoughts and feelings to them, all while speaking German. Within a week of letting them know, I had moved out. I now live in a new loving, caring host family who can better help me to achieve what I want to achieve during my year here.
