Hi, 2022 here. We’re putting the finishing touches on the upcoming year so let’s have a little pre-game huddle to get in the right head space now, before everything goes totally….well, we should do it ASAP.

Banner headline: trim the fat, world, let’s get clean, lean and mean in ’22, and start by tweaking those expectations!

Close your eyes and imagine 2022. If, in your mind, you think the new year will be a 10, I suggest you start getting super comfortable with a 7. Many smart people I know are psyched about a 6. There’s no shame in a 5. None. In fact, in hindsight, people may say a 5 would have been fucking awesome.

If you’re reading this, then you survived the worst moments from the past two years. Up high! So next year if/when those moments start happening again, only on a sadistically regular basis and exponentially more severe, you will get through it. Haunted and hope-starved, sure, but the W is in the books, champ.

You’re stronger than you know, which is good, because next year, while I won’t say you will absolutely require a vast reserve of heretofore untapped strength, having that will be such a cool lifeline for you to cling to every minute of…
