Its April 2017.

Admidst the April Fools jokes, hot cross buns and long weekends we have been busy, in the last article I demonstrated how we changed technology stacks and moved fully to Native. We got a new crowd-sourced name and the world was our oyster

Oysters are also a well known Aphrodisiac, personally we have not tried it but if you have and its worked for you please share your experience

Since we are building a 4 Billion dollar food App we thought the Oyster comment was necessary.

So this is where we are

Checklist

1-Name : check — We still like the name and are not having crowd-sourcing remorse

2-Team : check — We recently uncovered a gem in Kenya by the name of Kawawa who is Full stack developer and a real asset to the company

3-Product : check-ish — We are fully agile and are going at it feature by feature so we currently have an App where you can register and login, absolutely brilliant

Now we needed a Logo, something memorable and iconic, something that will make you gaze into the sky and make Stevie wonder, something that you would expect to see in a Jag or a Solange Music Video.

We had two Options

1-Goto Fiverr and outsource a logo

2-Crowdsource a logo

We chose the latter and this is how it went

We found a cool website called logojoy and entered some preferences and its Artificial Intelligence engine was able to print out a couple of Logo options. You have to love Artificial Intelligence, even though Elon Musk thinks its the worst thing since weetbix, we got 5–10 Logo options and crowdsourced the selection of the best Logo.

Logo Options

So we had the Logo options and went to our ever reliable Google Forms to help us decide

So we decided to use the knowledge of the crowds and below is the Logo we have gone with….

We know We know We know, it wasn’t one of the options. The others didn’t feel right but this one did so we went with it.

Its been an exiting journey with allot of ups and some downs and we would love to take you with us on this journey. If you are wondering how? you can either join our telegram group and get exclusive access to behind the scenes content and visit our pre-public website

Lets connect and make memories

PS — If you have read up to here then well done and the world needs more people like you, there is also a “clap” icon down here and if you click it 50 times something amazing happens
