Okay let me first of all start off by stating that I do not personally know Elon Musk. The closest connection i could state is that I often visited Pretoria (Where Elon grew up) to do some shopping

After reading Elon’s book “How the Billionaire CEO of SpaceX and Tesla is Shaping our Future By Ashlee Vance” these are a couple of lessons i have picked up

Lessons

1-Plan in detail, execute

A plan is not good enough, detailed planning makes for a successful project. Get as granular as humanly possible. Don’t stop until what you have promised comes to being. Your word is your bond

2-Detailed feedback

If a plan doesn't work provide an alternative and provide detailed feedback on that alternative

3-High work ethic -16 hours a day

Work work and work again, our time on this earth is precious and we need to make the best use of it

4-Hire the best

Being good academically is not enough, a candidate must be able to show what him/her has done with their talents

5-Learn about the industry and from the people

Always hire people more knowledgeable than you then learn from them, quiz them frequently and extract everything they know

6-High profile releases, HYPE

Media = Hype. Fullstop

7-Physics

If the physics doesn’t stick then neither with the idea. First principles are those for a reason
