Alcohol Distribution

“Gaining licensing to distribute in States where you receive cash upon delivery is key. I found out very early that cash and credit markets are worlds apart, and that positioning yourself as a wholesaler/distributor in States where retailers have to pay cash upfront — or lose their licensing — is critical. It not only increases cash flow, but it has the added effect of reducing vendor returns to nearly zero,” says Jessica Contreras, CEO of Fuego Fino, Inc.

Fuego Fino currently holds a federal license to import alcohol and has expanded from its base in South Florida to Arizona to take advantage of that cash-on-delivery market.

Fuego Fino is currently conducting a crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder to fund its expansion. Its lead investor is WIF AX, LLC, a women-led opportunity fund who has taken a unique step of investing alongside the general public.

“I am always impressed by the innovative approach that the Fuego Fino team has towards its market. Jessica has a deep knowledge and skill set that she brings to the table, and the choice of cash versus credit market expansion is just another example of how experience can play a crucial role in a companies growth,” says Barbara Bickham, WIF AX, LLC managing director.

Cash Vs. Credit Markets

In the U.S. many laws date back to the prohibition era, and the States lay a complicated web of licensing requirements. One of the key’s to Fuego Fino’s strategy is to gain licensing in the 7 cash states and then expand into the three additional mixed cash/credit states.
