Today’s story about a creator who love building no-code projects, a passionate indie maker who inspire for building cool projects and solving problems through passion.
Daan is currently building Legal Tech Jobs(A platform to find the best jobs and hire the best talents) and working as a Growth Manager at Corporify.
Q. How your journey as a creator started?
A. I don’t have a technical background, but I’m really interested in low/no-code projects & tools, the indie maker community in general, and some makers in particular (e.g.@levelsio). In my freelance jobs I've come across a lot of tools and ideas, and hence I decided to launch a job board as a side project and that’s when all it started.
Q. What’s the first thing you had created/built?
A. First real “side project” I’ve pursued, before I had only built websites, social media pages & created internal things for work.
Q. What’s that one thing you want to achieve in 2021?
A. Enjoy life when the Covid-19 restrictions are over :-) No concrete ambitions for LTJ(Legal Tech Job) except for growing it steadily.
Q. What’s the one mistake you have done and will advice others not to repeat that?
A. Starting a business with other partners without having a clear value proposition and business plan figured out, falling for most of the traps set out in the book ‘the founder’s dilemma’.
Q. What do you love to do when not working? Any hobbies you want to share?
A. My grandparents passed away a few years ago, and I’m currently in the final stages of renovating their house, which has been taking up a lot of my free time throughout the past year. And due to Covid-19 restrictions hobbies have been reduced to Netflix and chill 😅. Oh, and I recently picked up Padel.
Q. What are you reading nowadays?
A. Currently, I am reading Product led growth by Wes Bush.
Q. What’s something you learnt/realized recently that you wish you learnt/realized much earlier?
A. Try to minimize input & maximize output in everything you do.
Q. Suppose there is a big whiteboard in front of you. What’s the first line you would like to write?
A. Don’t Follow the Herd.
