Hey everyone, it’s the Fuelet Wallet team here!

As many of you know, in the fast-paced world of crypto, finding the right blockchain platform for the product you’re going to build is one of the key elements to success for the dev team. Fuelet case was no exception and, in this article, we’ll take you on our journey and explore why Fuel became the ultimate choice for our project, discuss the network benefits for crypto wallets, and tell you about our first encounters with the Fuel team.

Fuel’s Unique Features: Account Abstraction with Predicates

When we bumped into Fuel, the first thing that caught our eye was the ability to spend assets that don’t belong to your account. That’s intriguing for Web3 wallet developers as it can make crypto more versatile and adaptable to various use cases. It’s possible on Fuel because it allows spending UTXOs based on satisfying a specific set of conditions, so-called predicates, rather than solely relying on ownership.

The integration of UTXOs mixed with predicates in Fuel unlocks unique opportunities that were previously limited to smart contracts on other chains. However, what sets Fuel apart is that you don’t need to write and deploy extensive smart contracts, thereby avoiding unnecessary state bloat and paying fees for smart contracts deployment.

This advantage empowered us to develop innovative Account Abstraction features that are more affordable for users compared to traditional blockchain platforms.

Account Abstraction is crucial for improving the current Web3 UX and, as a wallet, with Fuel Account Abstraction that uses predicates, we have a unique opportunity to address real UX issues and attract more users to Web3 by simplifying their interaction with the blockchain. Thanks to it, our roadmap is full of Account Abstraction features like social recovery, hardware signer with face-id, paying gas in any token, spending limits, and more. Many of them are already built and waiting for minor support on the blockchain side, which we expect to have with beta-4.

Those features will allow us to become one of the first next-generation Web3 wallets that should attract more new users both from Web2 and Web3 as well with ease.

An excellent example of utilizing Account Abstraction with Fuel predicates is the project we built during the last ETH Global hackathon: a feature for sending coins without knowing the recipient’s address. We used Fuel predicates for that: when creating a QR code, we encode a secret in a predicate and send money to it. Next, we share the QR code with the secret code, so the recipient can take it and solve the puzzle in the predicate. That way, the recipient can withdraw the assets from this predicate to his account by doing so. This is an example of non-traditional interaction in web3, which is enabled by Fuel AA. If you want to learn more, you can find the source code on ethglobal.com , just type “Fuelet Pay”.

To sum it up, Fuel being a blockchain like no other Layer-1 or Layer-2 blockchain built on top of Ethereum was a rational choice supported by tech opportunities Fuel network can provide for the wallet builders.

The Fuel Team: A Meeting of Minds

Apart from the tech side of the question, right from the start, we enjoyed working with the Fuel network team. They are very responsive, so starting to build on Sway went really easily. It’s still early, and if you join now, you have time to build something significant and influence blockchain development by suggesting new features!

Our confidence in the Fuel team grew even stronger after participating in the recent ETH Global hackathon, where we had the chance to collaborate with more Fuel team members. Their professionalism and dedication reaffirmed our belief in Fuel and cemented our decision to build on this innovative network.

A Thriving Community: Collaboration and Innovation

As a marketing lead in Fuelet, I can’t miss the chance to mention the vibrant Fuel community. Here we discovered a passionate group of developers and deigns deeply engaged with the technology. This active user base, driven by collaboration and innovation, creates an environment that fuels growth. We’re thrilled to be part of this dynamic community and invite other developers to join us on the Fuel network.

For better collaboration with developers on Fuel, we decided to create a special developer mode in Fuelet and even created a special role on our Discord server to foster easier contact with our team. If you are building products on Fuel, and wish to collaborate with Fuelet, fill in this form.

Conclusion

After an exhaustive search, we found our perfect match in the Fuel network. Its unique features, trusted team, and vibrant community made it the undeniable choice for the Fuelet Wallet project. From the moment we wrote our first line of code, our confidence in Fuel remained unwavering. We encountered no concerns or doubts along our journey, solidifying our belief that Fuel was the ideal platform for our Fuelet wallet project. Fuel’s robust infrastructure and forward-thinking approach continue to inspire us.

To those still contemplating whether to build on Fuel, we wholeheartedly recommend taking the leap and embracing the power of this remarkable network.
