Quality tech skills are some of the most sought-after in the modern economy — and an inability to access quality tech talent is now a major competitive handicap for business. Today, every business is a technology business — and talent is the fuel that makes the modern business function.

With a majority of companies losing the “War for Talent”, it’s clear that a “business as usual” approach to talent acquisition — traditional recruiting, HR, employee perks and so on — won’t do (here’s a little secret, too — the world’s best tech talent doesn’t necessarily want to spend every day in your expensive, swanky offices, either). The old ways aren’t keeping up with the new talent paradigm and the rapidly-evolving needs of business.

Something needs to change. To paraphrase Einstein’s famous quote, “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results… is the definition of insanity”.

So what’s the answer?

At Fuel, we believe the future of work is remote. The idea that value can only be created by co-located full-time employees feels, well, dated. And we’re building the tools, platform and talent network to prove that there’s a better way.

So what does that mean in real terms?

It starts with a trusted network: existing teams, vetted for pedigree and organized by competency, timezone and price point.

Then we layer in best-in-class project management methodology: clear project goals, defined milestones, transparent tracking and independent validation of deliverables.

Next we add administrative tools to make life easy: simple, consistent templates for project scope, SOWs, NDAs, professional services if you need them, and secure payments (and only for successful milestones!).

Finally, we integrate into tools and ways-of-working you already use: Github, Jira, Slack and so on.

The result is a simple, painless mechanism you can rely on, month after month to source, engage and manage the best technology talent on the planet. Scale your use dynamically as you need, month-by-month, and pay only for what you use. Engage teams for one-off ad-hoc projects, or unload entire workstreams to a trusted partner. The choice is yours.

We think it’s a game-changer for how companies deliver technology outputs.

This is the beginning of our journey, but it’s a conversation, not a monologue. Our intention is that every channel of ours will be loaded with helpful resources for your company on the topic of remote work and how to drive value from this accelerating trend. We’d love to hear your thoughts as we evolve and grow — and of course, if you have an immediate need, we’d love to hear from you!

To your success!
