Equipped with a good portion of enthusiasm, drive, and flyers, the FUERGY team decided to fly to the United States to present our project during the Blockchain Expo, North America 2018. Our CDO Tibor Tarabek took the part at the conference and said a few words on the topic “How AI and blockchain can fit into the future of energy” in the Innovations & Investors zone. The expo was a big surprise compared to last year’s event. In 2017, the conference was attended mostly by already ongoing or finished ICOs, but this year we could see many IoT solutions.

Exhibitors from this area presented new IoT technologies together with hardware solutions where blockchain plays a supportive role. Thanks to this, our project stood out. Our stand was visited by a lot of people who were pleasantly surprised to find a project that made their ticket worth its price. A solution where blockchain is both necessary and useful. A project completely different from the others, with a real use case that can be helpful for the people of California. We gained a lot of useful information from visitors who came directly from San Francisco.

Due to the recent wildfires in California, many asked us how our device could help them as PG&E disconnects them from electricity, mainly due to safety concerns. Our device has, asides from a sleek design, a built-in battery which, in addition to solar, helps them gain energy self-sufficiency. California is one of the most progressive states in terms of sustainable energy. This is driven by a common effort on part of Californians to mitigate or prevent global warming, a phenomenon that has caused them a lot of trouble. Several months of drought and wildfires are succeeded by torrential rainfall, which leads to erosion and mud avalanches. The government of California has promised to run the state’s energy on 100% renewables by 2045. A new piece of legislation, due to enter force in 2 years, obligates all new houses in California to have roof-mounted solar panels.

We think this is one of several reasons why FUERGY was one of the few real solutions which the conference attendees wanted to purchase right away from our stand at the conference :) .
