There is an increasing number of nonprofits, social enterprises and cause-related for-profit businesses that do an amazing job balancing their missions with innovative services. We talked to the owners of Outfit Good to learn how they built their business by coupling their talents with their desire to help increase the impact that local organizations have on the communities they serve.

Working Together

Andrew Goldsmith, a screen printer, and Natasha Wheeler, a marketer and designer, forged their first venture through a common interest: supporting local causes. Challenges that most frequently pervade the social sector include building awareness and raising money to further their mission. While fulfilling t-shirt orders for an overwhelmed football team mom, they saw an opportunity to simplify and streamline the experience and offer a solution that addresses both of these issues.

Andrew and Natasha of Outfit Good share what they care about

Rising tide lifts all boats

In 2013, Natasha and Andrew purchased enough used equipment to launch their business, and rapidly expanded. They launched Outfit Good to support apparel fundraising campaigns in Ohio using web-based sales, making it easier and more efficient for any cause-related organization or nonprofit to raise money. With each t-shirt, print or pennant sale, Outfit Good is contributing to the success of these organizations. Plus, with all of their campaigns, orders are placed prior to production to ensure efficiency and zero waste.

“It’s just the right thing to do.”

Handmade and local

Capital Area Humane Society, Ohio History Connection and ROX are just a few of the organizations that Outfit Good has worked with locally. Each campaign is another opportunity for them to deliver hand-made products and contribute to the important work these nonprofits are doing in the community. They use their creativity to find new ways to collaborate with their community — including their mobile, custom Pop-Up Print Shoppe where visitors get the chance to try screen printing.

We love to partner with Outfit Good. They’ve hand-screened a variety of our designs, including our Care Cards, Cause Collaborative notebooks and shirts.
