Spring is officially here and it’s time to do some much needed cleaning for our Earth. Ninety-five service sites are available for volunteer registration through Earth Day Columbus 2017. Grab your gardening gloves and help clean up Columbus!

April 8th
BeeGood Gardens Botanical Sanctuary — Invasives Removal
Join the BeeGood Gardens (BGG) Botanical Sanctuary in removing invasive species and replace them with natives, edibles, and medicinals. This will be a learning environment for those interested in pollinator stewardship and sustainable living. There will also be miscellaneous garden projects for those wanting to get their hands dirty. And the BGG Seed Library will be open, too to get your seeds for the season. Bring gloves, water, and wear long sleeves. Contact us with questions beegoodgardens@gmail.com.

East Dublin Granville Cleanup 161 Task Force
Pick up trash, refresh 22 landscape boxes and trim trees along the 3.3 mile corridor of State Route 161. Meet at Sharon Woods Square, NW corner of Sharon Woods Blvd and East Dublin Granville Road. Come early for a complimentary breakfast.

Franklinton Gardens Work Day (April 8 and April 15)
Work on an urban farm for the day doing tasks such as mulching, weeding, planting, digging, and other farm-related work. Bring a water bottle and wear work clothes.

April 9th
Big Walnut Tree Planting with City of Columbus Recreation and Parks
The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department will be planting trees in Big Walnut Park as part of the city’s ongoing reforestation efforts. This opportunity is available for all ages and is located at 5000 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH.

Grange Insurance Audubon Center
You get to help protect and conserve Columbus’s backyard! Looking for volunteers to help with a number of different projects: . Pulling invasive species like Honeysuckle and Teasel, planting native trees, weeding and managing gardens, cleaning up litter on the grounds and in the river, and sprucing up the center. Bring any gardening supplies, especially gloves! Free lunch will also be provided.

Old North Litter Clean-Up
Old North Columbus needs a good old-fashioned litter clean-up in the spring! They’ll be picking up trash in the “old” part of the neighborhood — Hudson to Arcadia, Neil to Indianola. Trash bags and litter grabbers will be provided. Come at any time and stay as long as you want.

Glen Echo Park Clean-Up sponsored by Great Lakes Brewing Co.
Join the 17th annual Earth Day Clean-Up in Glen Echo Park cleaning trash from the Glen Echo stream and possibly removing some bush honeysuckle. The Glen Echo Park is located in a ravine with steep slopes and a rocky stream. Boots and gloves are recommended. Volunteers are welcome to meet at The Crest in Clintonville after the clean-up for an Earth Day cheers!

Highbanks Metro Park Clean Up
Help rid the park of litter and invasive plants and plant trees and work to beautify the garden beds of the park.

April 22nd
Schiermeier Olentangy River Wetland Research Park — River Cleanup Help clean up the Olentangy River at The Ohio State University Wetland Research Park. Clear litter that has accumulated throughout the winter along the Olentangy River between Clinton Park and the Dodridge Street Bridge. Bring gloves and a water bottle if you have them.
