5 Kinds of Photographers You Really Should Avoid
They’re not worth your time
As we learn and grow in this hobby of photography, we encounter all kinds of people.
That’s just life, I guess. It takes all kinds, as they say.
But I’ve found that some types of people — some types of photographers — can drag you down. Or, at the very least, they can lead you in a direction that’s not healthy.
My suggestion: Avoid those kinds of photographers.
Let me tell you what kinds I mean…
The Gearheads
The name here says it all. These are folks that love to talk about their gear, and your gear, and somebody else’s gear, and the gear they want to get, and the gear that they just sold, and…
You get it.
There’s nothing wrong with gear talk, of course. Part of the fun of photography is the toys that we play with. But I think gearheads focus more on gear than on the picture-making art and craft of photography.
Don’t let them draw you in. Gear is important. But it’s what you do with it that really matters.
