36-My Strange Addiction — Tea
Every day of my adult life that I can remember has started with a cup of tea. This started during high school when my girlfriends and I would drink tea in the morning after a sleepover.
It continued throughout college, into married life, being a young mother, and now into middle age. If I don’t have my tea, I feel off. Mid-morning I switch to coffee. By late afternoon I cannot have any more tea or coffee or else I risk a sleepless night.
I’ve tried organic tea, herbal tea, and all kinds of teas — black pekoe is my favorite. I like it hot and I like it cold. I like it when it’s hot out in the summer and, while I’m freezing in the winter.
Today, I had breakfast tea, at lunch in Dublin, Ireland.
I cannot go a day without tea.
Tea is my strange obsession.
