52-Week Photography Project: June 2024 Edition
Recording life in Northern Poland
For this month, I offer photos of people who live in my adopted world of northern Poland. It is an attempt to maintain a common theme presenting the human condition. These photos are moments in time, capturing people living their daily lives.
A study of the human condition as it is, these images capture children at play, the ageless right of fishing and the act of remembrance. These are people living in the rolling farmlands and small harbor towns along the Baltic coast. In the rolling farmlands and small harbor town along the Baltic coast, people experience joy in the simple things, muffling the loud, disjointed noise of modern life.
I worked to simplify these photographs, distilling the images to the bare minimum, and reducing the clutter in the margins. The results are promising, but I feel like I still have a way to go. In some ways, I am looking to define and refine my style. A style that focuses on people and my humble attempt to interpret their essence.
Crushed
A few weeks ago, I was invited to my farmer friend’s annual picnic for his employees. They invited the camera as well. Food, drink and friendship for all. But what caught my eye was the delightful chaos of the children.
