In my little pocket of the world, October is experiencing an identity crisis. The rapid loss of light each day and trees boasting colorful leaves make fall’s presence undeniable, but the temps aren’t aligning with these shifts. The days are warmer than usual and I keep reaching for my springtime clothes rather than my fall ones.

If I could conjure up a good way to capture this in an image it’d be perfect for this month’s prompt №.40. An idea hasn’t struck me yet, so I’ll have to settle for words here and a different image for the prompt.

№.40 ~ Identity Crisis

are we still spoons? | photo by kasey sparks

I can almost hear these spoons identity crisis driven thoughts.

Are we still spoons when someone cuts us up and solders us together to create a flower? I mean it’s kinda cool to be transformed into some pretty kitschy yard art. But we’ve lost our function as eating utensils.

Who are we now?!
