Contemplative Wanderings

Each month, the 52 Week Photography Project challenges one to see the world from a different perspective. It is an exercise asking the mind’s eye to collaborate with writers’ imagination. So every month, with prompts in hand, I seek to meet the challenge of bringing meaningful images to the eye and words to the page. Sometimes it works, and other times, not so much.

My contemplative wanderings for this month had me walking the streets of my two favorite Polish port cities, Gdansk and Ustka. Both on the Baltic, each offers a kaleidoscope of delightful scenes waiting to be digitized and offered to Medium readers.

Some photos require thoughtful planning to achieve the desired effect. Other photos capture images of the moment at hand. Hopefully, all offer to the reader a minute of thoughtful contemplation on the world.

All in the Details

There’s lighthouse near my home in Poland. It stands in the harbor town of Ustka, marking one of the few ports along the northern coast of Poland. The lighthouse is not on a prominent point of land, but tucked inside the harbor. A location that challenges those looking for an interesting shot of the brick structure.

Retired these days but still working to improve myself. An avid photographer I am always learning to look at the world in new ways while telling a good story.
