The 52-Week Photo Challenge — August ‘24
Last Minute August Homework!
Singing the end of summer blues!
Isort of feel like the kid doing homework at the zero hour. August has soared by, perhaps because our book is coming out, um, tomorrow. You can humor me by checking it out, The Three Melissas — The Practical Guide to Surviving Family Homelessness. Or you can take a look because you’re concerned, curious or maybe because someone you know is in that situation.
Main Street-
As luck would have it, the Happy State Bank (where I was tempted to open an account) in Turkey, TX, is on Main Street. Tada! I can’t make this stuff up!
Lucky-
How lucky we all are that, in this age of seemingly widespread dysfunction, THE SUN WORKS! This sight was in/near Slab City, CA, a fascinating array of, um, creations. This was one of the more mainstream ones.
Dreamy Skies-
Dreamy skies was a hard/easy task since I’ve seen so many dreamy skies in my travels! I remember driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway, heading to my sis/BIL’s after a filming trip, and seeing the ice formations. I was tired, but knew if I didn’t stop, I’d regret it. Where do you see that dreamy blue of a sky other than North Carolina? The ice sculpture, sky, sun combo works for me!
Power Forward-
Illinois, where these wind turbines are, has impressed me with the seriousness they’ve taken clean energy. Last year I moved to North Carolina. I don’t remember seeing any turbines here. Maybe I just haven’t been to the right places.
Let me vent just a tad. Elon Musk, don’t come by here because I’d probably beat you over the head…your satellites aren’t working and it’s causing me (and others) headaches. Starlink, BS. If this doesn’t upload in time, that’s my excuse.
