Yes, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, has a street in Oaxaca de Juarez named after him. I actually found a second street named after him, when I was living several miles north of Oaxaca Centro, in the San Felipe del Agua neighborhood.

Alvarez Bravo is the most celebrated photographer in Mexico, and with good reason.

Inside the entry, this arched niche displays this image, of a woman leaning on a wrought iron railing. The power of photography is on full display. I can only surmise this niche and railing were constructed to house this specific portrait. The original portrait was made in 1931.
