My Photography Full Circle Moment, 5840 Days Later
Yes, photography, too, has one of those
When someone asked me if they could use an image I had shot as their phone’s wallpaper, it hit me differently.
It took me back 16 years to when I was hunting online for nature and pet pictures I could use as wallpaper. I had just gotten an old Sony Ericsson K-750 phone as a gift for finishing high school (June 2009).
It never occurred to me that one day, I would create images worthy of wallpapers, too. No, no, not a chance. But a shot of my sister’s cat would change everything.
I never imagined the shot would be any good
For starters, I had no plans to shoot a cat. I had gone out to take shots of some blooming flowers next door. Except I couldn’t, as the flowers had drawn a healthy crowd of bees that morning.
Plus, there were too many people milling about that area. Back then, I didn’t like people looking at me and wondering if I wasn’t better off ditching the camera and getting a real job.
As I returned home disappointed, my sister’s cat followed me. Sensing I paid no attention to him, he dashed over to his favorite spot — a sour sap tree in our house.
